As I work on this project
about waste and disembodiment,
I'm beginning to realize that the body
itself is becoming more and more of a waste and a hindrance. Many of things that
I enjoy most - music, movies,
books, comics, video games
- require only the senses of sight
and sound. The body and
its contact senses are sacrificed for an increased engagement with TV,
email, chat rooms, and the web. Thus the body may become a reminder of a time
before electronic transposition.
